Yeah, I am kind of a big deal. At least that's what my mom says.

Professional history

about_me1

For over 12 years, I have immersed myself in design. I kicked off my career as the designer for the world’s largest blues magazine, Blues Revue. It was the combination of my love of music and design that drove me at that time. During the day; I was laying out a magazine, creating advertisements and working with photographers. While at home during the evenings, I started dabbling in Web site design and development. I quickly knew I wanted to pursue this new avenue of design.

I followed my urge and got into interactive design. I received my first taste while working at Mind Over Media in Pittsburgh. It was here that I designed a wide variety of award-winning, interactive design solutions for companies like Xerox, American Eagle Outfitters, Penn State, the University of Maryland and many others.

I merged my love of Computer Gaming and Design into a fantastic position, in Miami, Florida, as Senior Web Designer at Alienware, the leading High-Performance PC manufacture of the time. I lead a team of top-notch designers and front-end developers to create a shopping experience that computer gamers loved. As part of the E-commerce committee, I dove into understanding web analytics and buying trends. I used this knowledge to constantly improve the user experience and, ultimately, the sales of Alienware Computers. Not only did I drive the design and shopping experience of the Web site; I also worked on e-mail campaigns, online and print advertising.

I got a little home sick while I was soaking up the sun in Miami. So, I came back home to Pittsburgh and took a Senior Web Designer position at Ripple Effects Interactive, now known as BarkleyREI. At BarkleyREI, I created a variety of large interactive solutions for a plethora of clients; such as Carnegie Mellon University, Vanderbilt University, The Salvation Army of Southern California, Pennsylvania Tourism, Louisville CVB and many others. Because of my vast knowledge of all things interactive, I had the chance to work closely with the user experience and web development teams to create solutions that where technically feasible and user friendly.

For over 12 years I’ve been producing designs that balance beauty and usability for a variety of diverse organizations of all sizes. I have been involved in all aspects of the design process. Simply put, I breathe interactive design.
